The Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary with Scripture focus on the biblical accounts of the lives of Jesus, Mary, and the Apostles after the crucifixion and death of Jesus, beginning with the resurrection of Jesus. These mysteries are generally prayed on Sundays and Wednesday; although they can be prayed on any day in accordance with one's private devotion.
When it was evening, there came a rich man from Arimathea named Joseph, who was himself a disciple of Jesus. He went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus; then Pilate ordered it to be handed over.[Matthew 27:57-58]
Taking the body, Joseph wrapped it [in] clean linen and laid it in his new tomb that he had hewn in the rock. Then he rolled a huge stone across the entrance to the tomb and departed. [Matthew 27:59–60]
After the sabbath, as the first day of the week was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb. And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, approached, rolled back the stone, and sat upon it. [Matthew 28:1-2]
His appearance was like lightning and his clothing was white as snow. [Matthew 28:3]
The guards were shaken with fear of him and became like dead men. [Matthew 28:4]
Then the angel said to the women in reply, “Do not be afraid! I know that you are seeking Jesus the crucified. He is not here, for he has been raised just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.” [Matthew 28:5-6]
“Then go quickly and tell his disciples, ‘He has been raised from the dead, and he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him.’ Behold, I have told you.” [Matthew 28:7]
Then they went away quickly from the tomb, fearful yet overjoyed, and ran to announce this to his disciples. [Matthew 28:8]
And behold, Jesus met them on their way and greeted them. They approached, embraced his feet, and did him homage. [Matthew 28:9]
Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go tell my brothers to go to Galilee, and there they will see me.” [Matthew 28:10]
The Ascension
On the evening of that first day of the week, when the doors were locked, where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst and said to them, “Peace be with you.” When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord. [John 20:19-20]
[Jesus] said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.” And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained.” [John 20:21-23]
Thomas, called Didymus, one of the Twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. So the other disciples said to him, “We have seen the Lord.” But he said to them, “Unless I see the mark of the nails in his hands and put my finger into the nail marks and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.” [John 20:24-25]
Now a week later his disciples were again inside and Thomas was with them. Jesus came, although the doors were locked, and stood in their midst and said, “Peace be with you.” Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and see my hands, and bring your hand and put it into my side, and do not be unbelieving, but believe.” [John 20:26-27]
Thomas answered and said to him, “My Lord and my God!” Jesus said to him, “Have you come to believe because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed.” [John 20:28-29]
The eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had ordered them. When they saw him, they worshiped, but they doubted. [Matthew 28:16-17]
Then Jesus approached and said to them, “All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.” [Matthew 28:18-20]
When he had said this, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him from their sight. [Acts 1:9]
While they were looking intently at the sky as he was going, suddenly two men dressed in white garments stood beside them. They said, “Men of Galilee, why are you standing there looking at the sky? This Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven will return in the same way as you have seen him going into heaven. [Acts 1:10-11]
Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mountain called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day’s journey away. [Acts 1:12]
The Descent of the Holy Spirit
When the time for Pentecost was fulfilled, they were all in one place together. [Acts 2:1]
And suddenly there came from the sky a noise like a strong driving wind, and it filled the entire house in which they were. [Acts 2:2]
Then there appeared to them tongues as of fire, which parted and came to rest on each one of them. [Acts 2:3]
And they were all filled with the holy Spirit and began to speak in different tongues, as the Spirit enabled them to proclaim. [Acts 2:4]
Now there were devout Jews from every nation under heaven staying in Jerusalem. [Acts 2:5]
At this sound, they gathered in a large crowd, but they were confused because each one heard them speaking in his own language. [Acts 2:6]
They were astounded, and in amazement they asked, “Are not all these people who are speaking Galileans? Then how does each of us hear them in his own native language? [Acts 2:7–8]
They were all astounded and bewildered, and said to one another, “What does this mean?” [Acts 2:12]
Peter [said] to them, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the holy Spirit. For the promise is made to you and to your children and to all those far off, whomever the Lord our God will call.” [Acts 2:38-39]
Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand persons were added that day. [Acts 2:41]
The Assumption
And Mary said: “My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord; [Luke 1:46]
my spirit rejoices in God my savior. [Luke 1:47]
For he has looked upon his handmaid’s lowliness; behold, from now on will all ages call me blessed. [Luke 1:48]
“The Mighty One has done great things for me, and holy is his name. [Luke 1:49]

“He has shown might with his arm, dispersed the arrogant of mind and heart. [Luke 1:51]
“He has thrown down the rulers from their thrones but lifted up the lowly. [Luke 1:52]
“The hungry he has filled with good things; the rich he has sent away empty. [Luke 1:53]
“He has helped Israel his servant, remembering his mercy, [Luke 1:54]
“according to his promise to our fathers, to Abraham and to his descendants forever.” [Luke 1:55]
The Coronation of the Blessed Virgin Mary
A great sign appeared in the sky, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. [Revelation 12:1]
She was with child and wailed aloud in pain as she labored to give birth. [Revelation 12:2]
She gave birth to a son, a male child, destined to rule all the nations with an iron rod. [Revelation 12:5a]
Her child was caught up to God and his throne. [Revelation 12:5b]
The woman herself fled into the desert where she had a place prepared by God. [Revelation 12:6]
When the dragon saw that it had been thrown down to the earth, it pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child. [Revelation 12:13]
But the woman was given the two wings of the great eagle, so that she could fly to her place in the desert, where, far from the serpent, she was taken care of for a year, two years, and a half-year. [Revelation 12:14]
The serpent, however, spewed a torrent of water out of his mouth after the woman to sweep her away with the current. [Revelation 12:15]
But the earth helped the woman and opened its mouth and swallowed the flood that the dragon spewed out of its mouth. [Revelation 12:16]
Then the dragon became angry with the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring, those who keep God’s commandments and bear witness to Jesus. [Revelation 12:17]
